General Refund Policy for Donations

All donations made to Responder Relief Fund are voluntary contributions to a nonprofit organization. As a general policy, donations are considered final at the time of transaction. However, we understand that errors and exceptional circumstances can occur, and we review all refund requests on a case-by-case basis with compassion and fairness.

We are committed to maintaining the trust of our donors. If you believe a donation was made in error or under unusual circumstances, please contact us as soon as possible so we can work with you to reach an appropriate resolution.

Circumstances for Refund Consideration

We will consider refund requests under the following circumstances:

  • Duplicate or accidental transactions resulting from a technical error
  • Unauthorized use of a payment method or suspected fraudulent activity
  • Donations made in a significantly incorrect amount due to a data entry error
  • Donations made by a minor without parental or guardian consent
  • Exceptional personal circumstances reviewed and approved at our discretion

Requests submitted more than 30 days after the original transaction date may not be eligible for a refund. We encourage donors to contact us promptly if an issue arises.

How to Request a Refund

To initiate a refund request, please contact our team using one of the methods below. To help us process your request as quickly as possible, please include:

  • Your full name and contact information
  • The date and amount of the donation
  • The email address or payment method used at the time of donation
  • A brief description of the reason for the refund request

Processing Timeline

Once we receive your refund request, our team will acknowledge it within 2 business days. We aim to complete our review and communicate a decision within 5 to 10 business days of receiving all required information.

If your request is approved, refunds are typically processed back to the original payment method within 5 to 7 business days after approval, depending on your financial institution.


Nonprofit Status and Tax Implications

Responder Relief Fund operates as a nonprofit organization. Donations made to us may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by applicable law. If a refund is issued for a donation that was previously claimed as a tax deduction, the refunded amount may need to be reported as income in the year it is received.

We strongly recommend consulting a qualified tax professional regarding the impact of any refunded donation on your tax filings. Responder Relief Fund is not able to provide tax or legal advice.
